2026 Jeep Recon
2027 Audi Q6 e-tron Sportback

Safety

The Jeep Recon has a standard driver’s side knee airbag mounted low on the dashboard. The knee airbag helps prevent the driver from sliding under the seatbelts or the main frontal airbag; this keeps the driver better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. A knee airbag also helps keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The Q6 e-tron Sportback doesn’t offer knee airbags.

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The Recon has standard Park Assist with Rear Stop that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The Q6 e-tron Sportback doesn’t offer automatic braking for stationary objects directly to the rear.

When descending a steep, off-road slope, the Recon’s standard Hill Descent Control allows you to creep down safely. The Q6 e-tron Sportback doesn’t offer Hill Descent Control.

The Jeep Recon’s 360-degree camera is equipped with washers for its front and rear cameras, ensuring crystal-clear visibility in any weather condition. Conversely, the Audi Q6 e-tron Sportback only offers a rear camera washer, which may not provide the same level of all-weather performance.

Both the Recon and the Q6 e-tron Sportback have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front and rear side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, all-wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.

The Jeep Recon weighs 678 to 810 pounds more than the Audi Q6 e-tron Sportback. The NHTSA advises that heavier vehicles are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

Warranty

Jeep’s powertrain warranty covers the Recon 1 year and 10,000 miles longer than Audi covers the Q6 e-tron Sportback. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 5 years or 60,000 miles. Coverage on the Q6 e-tron Sportback ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.

There are almost 8 times as many Jeep dealers as there are Audi dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Recon’s warranty.

Reliability

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2025 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Jeep vehicles are better in initial quality than Audi vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Jeep above average in initial quality. With 83 more problems per 100 vehicles, Audi is rated below average.

Engine

The Recon’s electric motors produces 194 more horsepower (650 vs. 456) than the Q6 e-tron Sportback’s standard electric motors. The Recon’s electric motors produces 141 more horsepower (650 vs. 509) than the SQ6 e-tron’s standard electric motors.

Tires and Wheels

For better traction, the Recon has larger tires than the Q6 e-tron Sportback (265/70R18 vs. 235/60R19). The Recon’s tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Q6 e-tron Sportback (265/70R18 vs. 255/50R20).

The Recon has a standard full size spare tire so a flat doesn’t interrupt your trip. A full size spare isn’t available on the Q6 e-tron Sportback; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

Suspension and Handling

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Recon is .3 inches wider in the front and 1.3 inches wider in the rear than the average track on the Q6 e-tron Sportback.

Passenger Space

The Recon has 4.7 inches more front headroom, 1.5 inches more front legroom, 3.6 inches more rear headroom, 1.1 inches more rear legroom and .8 inches more rear shoulder room than the Q6 e-tron Sportback.

Cargo Capacity

The Recon has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the Q6 e-tron Sportback with its rear seat up (30.3 vs. 26.1 cubic feet). The Recon has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the Q6 e-tron Sportback with its rear seat folded (65.9 vs. 52.9 cubic feet).

Towing

Standard Trailer Sway Control on the Recon uses the Electronic Stability Control sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The Q6 e-tron Sportback doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

Ergonomics

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Recon has a standard rear fixed intermittent wiper with a full on position. The rear wiper standard on the Q6 e-tron Sportback only has an intermittent setting, so in a hard rain visibility isn’t as good.

The Recon has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the vehicle heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the Q6 e-tron Sportback.

The Recon has a 115-volt a/c outlet on the center console, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The Q6 e-tron Sportback doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.
